What Is a Public Adjuster?
A public adjuster is an individual that advises and assists residential property owners or commercial businesses when they have occasion to make an insurance claim with their insurance company.
Integrity Public Adjustment, LLC knows that suffering from property damages can be an extremely stressful time. We also understand that making important decisions under stress is never a good idea. Before you contact your insurance company, call the experts at Integrity Public Adjustment, LLC. We can promptly assess the damages to your property and then accurately and methodically put together a claim based on our findings.
Compensation for the public adjuster’s services is traditionally based on a percentage of the payments received for the claim. The percentage taken by the public adjuster depends on the size of the claim (the higher the payments, the percentage would be lower than on a smaller claim). The public adjuster acts as an advocate for the insured party and does the bulk of the legwork in gathering information and meeting with the insurance company’s claim representatives, protecting all subrogation possibilities, etc.
Public adjusters are required to be licensed by the state they conduct business in and carry a surety bond to provide coverage for any perceived errors in the adjustment process. As a business entity, we also carry Errors and Omissions coverage, which not only protects our company but also our clients.
The insured never owes the public adjuster any “out-of-pocket” money. The adjuster earns his commission by taking the predetermined percentage of the claim payments.
Why Should I Hire a Public Adjuster?
Many people feel that they can get a proper settlement themselves by handling the claim negotiations.
It is a fact that claims handled by public adjusters get paid at a higher dollar amount than those handled by the insured. Insurance companies do not work on behalf of their insured and want to pay out as little compensation as possible, thus maximizing their own profits. Public adjusters work for the insured to make sure the adjuster for the carrier recognizes and pays for the damages and for services necessary to bring the claim to a proper conclusion.
